We need food to fuel our bodies and it’s a source of joy, however it is not easy to find a sustainable way of eating healthily that fits with life. As your nutrition coach I will work with you to develop a nutritional plan tailored to your objectives and lifestyle, using current research-based advice.
It’s all about food.
Why use a nutrition coach?
An ever-increasing amount of research is showing that diet can impact almost every area of your health and wellbeing. Eating a nutritious diet can help you to:
- Improve your body composition
- Resolve gastrointestinal issues
- Strengthen your immune system
- Improve skin conditions
- Improve energy levels
- Improve mood
- Manage changes related to middle or older age
- Reduce your risk of chronic disease such as cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes or prediabetes, high blood pressure, dementia
- Reduce your risk of cancer
So, how can a nutrition coach help you reap some of these benefits?
As your nutrition coach, I will provide you with personalised guidance taking into account your unique needs and circumstances. You may feel you know what you ‘should’ be doing but are struggling to implement it, or you may already be eating a healthy diet but want to know how to improve it further or to check whether you are missing any nutrients, or maybe you want to know how to fuel for exercise properly. Whatever your objectives I can help you achieve them.
The first consultation is a confidential fact-finding exercise so I can understand where you are starting from. I respect all individuals’ needs and lifestyles and there is no judgement. If you are willing to commit to making a change I can help you realise your goals.
As part of your nutritional plan we will set dietary goals together and I will help you stay accountable to these. Our follow up sessions and my support and encouragement will provide strategies for overcoming difficulties and motivate you to stick to the plan and make healthier food choices. And if you do experience set backs I’ll be there to help you get back on track.
As your nutrition coach I will teach you about nutrition and what your body needs to stay healthy so you can make your own decisions about your diet going forwards. This may include basic macro- and micro-nutrient requirements, interpreting food labels, portion control, how to look through food marketing hype and understanding the nutritional value of different foods.
As well as your nutritional plan I provide you with emotional support and strategies to reduce the stress associated with changing your eating habits – you can leave the thinking up to me so you can focus on the doing.
After all, you only have one life and one body, so look after it! If you are ready to make a positive change I’d love to hear from you.

About
I love food, I really love food – I love eating it, cooking it and thinking about it. I come from a foodie family who show each other we love each other with food. I have found a way to eat that suits me – it gives me the energy I need, a healthy body composition and is delicious and satisfying, and I want to help others to find their sweet-spot with food.
I did a biology degree many moons ago and have retained a fascination for the way our bodies work. I came to nutrition through curiosity about how to fuel and nourish my body and mind better, particularly going into middle age, and leave less of an impact on the environment. I found I had a passion for the subject and became a certified nutrition coach – initially for my own sense of achievement but I found that I had so much enthusiasm for the subject I really wanted to pass the message on and help others find a way of eating that gives them joy.

Frequently asked questions
Do you provide a meal plan?
A meal plan can be worked into your nutritional plan if it is needed but I find it more effective to give you the tools and knowledge to eat healthily and make the best choices for yourself rather than me tell you exactly what to eat each day – in this case it is easier for you to continue eating well after our sessions have finished.
Can you tailor a plan for different diets?
Yes, your plan will take into account your likes and dislikes and needs, whether you are a meat-eater, vegetarian, vegan or have other dietary requirements.
I’ve been on loads of diets to lose weight and they never work – what’s different about your approach?
Often diets require very restrictive eating that is impossible to maintain or is not nutritionally safe over a longer period (if, for example, they remove whole food groups). Many people find that they may initially be successful in losing weight but they regain it after coming off a diet. My approach is to give you the skills and knowledge to eat better on a day-to-day basis so it becomes part of your life, without having to calorie count. This includes giving space for some treats as life would be miserable without them!
What happens if my plan doesn’t work?
The follow-up sessions are an opportunity to discuss how you are getting on with your plan and adjust it if needed. We can also discuss any obstacles you have encountered and strategies for overcoming them. Every body is different and sometimes we might need to try some alternatives to find the approach best for you.
